Awesome - Try this out

Have you ever wondered why should the wedding ring be worn on the Ring finger?
There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....
  Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
and the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip
(As shown in the figure below):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... ., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... ., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives
through thick and thin!!

my dad told me when I inched forward to wear a ring on my would-be wife on the day of betrothal in 1968 and asked me to try it out. I was quite surprised to try and see the result. He added that his dad told him this chinese proverb in 1932 when he got married. subburathinam

Instead of your middle fingers, if you bend your index fingers back to back you won't be able to separate your middle fingers only. Does that mean anything? :-)

Sir, I tried myself and asked my wife to try this. But both cannot separate the ring fingers. Some of my family members tried and some of my friends tried. But no 100% result. What is the significance in both attempts?K V Ramani, Chennai

In the article itself it is clearly mentioned. All the other relations can be separated but not husband and wife.

Believe it or not

Some time back under this same title, I posted some outstanding paintings which appear as though they are photograhs. After seeing those paintings, if we are under the impression only foreigners can do such outstanding art works, here are some to prove that we Indians can also do. The artist's name is Elayaraja
